One of our fellow league members, Clyde Chenault, passed away on Thursday March 27th.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Clyde's family.
He started playing softball at the Eastside Baptist Church. He also played on several local teams including several championship teams sponsored by Publix.
Clyde joined Lakeland Senior Softball 2015. He served on the BOD in 2019 and managed a team during the 2021 season.

Clyde Stephen Chenault, 72, of Lakeland passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025.Clyde was born in Lakeland, Florida on December 17, 1952; son of the late Howard E. Chenault and Hazel A. Stromsnes. In 1977, he began his 38-year career at Publix Super Markets in Lakeland and retired in January of 2015.Clyde was a man of immense heart, humor and passion. His love for sports, fishing, the ocean, Volkswagens, and his unwavering spirit will always be remembered. He was a legend in the sport of softball and continued to play up until his passing. Clyde was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on Earth was one marked by love, compassion, and his faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.He is survived by his wife, Beverly Chenault; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Adam Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Heath Taylor; his brother and sister, Gene Chenault and Dianne Sanders; grandchildren Christian, Jackson, Brynlee, Luke and Ava.
