BOD Meeting Minutes 9/16/2024

Meeting commenced at 11:00

Present: Kerry, Luke, Gary A., Dennis, Kim, Greg, and Pat (via telecon)

1.       Lakeland Senior Softball would like to express our appreciation to Brandon Senior Softball members who attended and played with us this summer and also helped with the equipment set-up and storage.

2.       The league updated our defibrillator to insure reliable operation.

3.       We need more people to volunteer to help with umpiring. Only a few players are performing this important job.

4.       We need more participation in batting practice. A lot of people are hitting and sitting.

Guidelines for batting practice:

The pitcher is in charge of BP.

Go to the field before you bat.

Bat 6 to 8 swings.

After batting, work the bucket for 1 or 2 batters.

Stay in the field until BP is complete.

5.       We will return to Monday and Thursday game days the week of September 30th.

6.       The Wednesday games between Lakeland and Dover will begin on October 2. The first game will be at Dover and the games will be played every other Wednesday. The scheduled dates are posted on the website under SCHEDULES. The team roster is posted under ROSTERS.

7.       Bob Dowdy was voted in as the 9th board member.
