BOD Meeting Minutes 6/30/25

Meeting commenced at 11:30 AM

Present: Luke, Kerry, Greg, Bob D., Kim, Dennis, with Gary A. and Larry via telecon.

1. Kerry covered the league’s financial statement. The league is financially sound.

2. Recently, we have had discrepancies concerning which set of rules to follow in our

league games.

Current ASA Senior Softball rules will govern all games, except as modified by the

Lakeland Senior Softball language that follows:

· When a batter steps up to the plate, they begin with a 1 ball and no strikes count.

· There will be no Infield Fly Rule.

· Markers will be placed in the outfield 180 feet from home plate.

· All outfielders must remain behind the markers until the pitch is struck by the batter.

· All infielders must remain on the infield dirt until the pitch is struck by the batter.

· Outfielders cannot throw a batter out at first base.

· A batter can refuse to be walked at any time, choose to accept a walk, or choose to

accept multiple walks.

· A runner on first base or third base may, for safety reasons, be off the base in foul

territory before the ball is hit. However, the first base runner must re-touch first base

before advancing after the ball is hit. A runner on third base does not need to re-touch

third base after the ball is hit, provided that runner is one step to the outfield side of

third base.
